Job Opening: Full-Time English-Speaking Imam
Location: Islamic Community Center of Illinois (ICCI) – Chicago, Illinois
The Islamic Community Center of Illinois (ICCI) is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and community-oriented Imam who resides in the United States, is fluent in English, and possesses a strong background in Islamic Studies.
Qualifications
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Degree or recognized certification in Islamic Studies or a related field
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to deliver engaging khutbahs and lectures
• Experience working with youth, families, and diverse community members
• Previous experience serving as an Imam, Islamic teacher, or community leader preferred
Responsibilities
• Lead the five daily prayers, Jumu’ah prayers, and special Islamic services
• Deliver Friday khutbahs and community lectures
• Provide Islamic guidance, counseling, and pastoral care
• Teach Islamic classes for youth and adults
• Develop and support educational and community programs
• Participate in community outreach and interfaith initiatives
• Engage and mentor youth and young professionals
• Work collaboratively with ICCI leadership, staff, and volunteers
